The most delicious way to use smoked trout in a salad and it takes only 5 minutes to assemble

  • 1 Granny Smith apple, cored and sliced
  • 1 lemon, zest and juice
  • 8 ounces smoked trout fillet
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 head Bibb lettuce


  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon
  • coarse salt and cracked black pepper


Whisk vinaigrette ingredients together until emulsified. Place apple in a bowl and soak with lemon juice and lemon zest. Divide trout into several pieces. Combine all ingredients and toss.
