Andrea Vogt is an independent journalist and documentary filmmaker based in Italy. Her dispatches have appeared internationally in print, online, radio and broadcast media, including The Guardian, BBC, The Daily Telegraph, The Week, The Independent and CNN. She is also Founding Partner and Head of Production at Millstream Films, a UK production company with editorial offices in Italy.

She is fluent and published in English, German and Italian.

Raised near a small logging town in the Pacific Northwest, she earned her first dollar documenting load weights at the local lumber mill the summer she turned 16.

She exposed the life on the lam of fugitive Koyote Karlos in an investigative story that helped lead to the accused fraudster’s arrest 10 years later by federal authorities. 

From 2007-2015 she reported on the Meredith Kercher slaying in Perugia, Italy and covered the Amanda Knox murder trial, appeal and high court rulings from the courtroom for a variety of media organizations.

Her 2015 projects include ongoing reporting of the migrant crisis from Sicily, and an updated documentary on the Meredith Kercher murder and Amanda Knox trials, as well historical series on the Vikings and Rome’s Colosseum.
